The risk management program helps identify and evaluate ways the church is potentially affected by risk. This includes implementing techniques to better protect the church, methods to avoid or transfer risk, and our insurance program.
A primary concern to Community of Christ is protecting children throughout the worldwide fellowship of the church and ensuring they have the basic human rights to which they are entitled. Cultural influences may affect how we process our child protection policy, but it is our ultimate aim to protect all children and young people in our care.
It is the responsibility of leaders to understand and follow risk management policies and guidelines for camps, high-risk activities, and special situations.
The church insures its buildings and contents under our property program, and carries travel and accident policies to protect our ministers. General liability insurance and numerous policies cover specific liabilities arising out of our activities.
